About Recyclio
Playful and experimentally, the application promotes cooperation on the part of the children to recycle waste. The application is aimed at children aged 7-12.
The application interface will be used by school children and their teachers and will show educational insights.
In addition, One of the goals is for the children to feel a part of the class team and that they are simply using fun and enjoyable application without the feeling of ‘practice’ which could cause reservations.
The problem
Despite the growing awareness of the importance of recycling in the present day, many individuals still struggle to recycle effectively due to a lack of knowledge about what can and cannot be recycled, as well as a lack of access to convenient and reliable recycling options.
The solution
Recyclio addresses this problem by providing users with a comprehensive guide to recycling guidelines and making it easy for users to find and navigate local recycling bins. The app also includes features that allow users to track and monitor their recycling efforts, such as a recycling leaderboard and progress tracker.
Research Findings
In order to most accurately understand the target audience
and its needs, the research was conducted on two levels:
- An interview with children aged 7-12
- A survey for parents aged 35-50, 70 participants in the survey

Research Findings
The importance of incorporating tracking and measurement features in the app. Enabling users to monitor their recycling progress not only allows them to see the impact of their efforts but also serves as a motivator to continue recycling and improve their recycling habits over time. These learnings can be applied to future projects focusing on sustainability, education, and behavior change to create innovative solutions that address environmental challenges and engage users in making a positive impact.
